Dinah's Evening Walk Down the Road

I took these photos on an evening walk today. The pictures were taken at a neighbor's property where I often take Dinah, our dog, to walk near our home in Maine. It is away from the road, so I can take her off leash. You can easily sense Dinah's joy as she runs free around the field and woods.

Tonight there was a beautiful post-sunset sky. Mind you, that this was taken just after sunset, which was about 3:56 p.m. today. And the days are still getting shorter. Today was mostly cloudy, but a huge improvement from yesterday when it rained all day. We woke up this morning to a dusting of snow that quickly melted away.

Dinah is forced to pose for a picture when she would much rather be running.

  1. Looks bleak, desolate - yet beautiful. Dinah must be in her element sniffing out canine smells she's not encountered before, now left behind = which she'll now store in her memory banks for future reference.

  2. Oh, I'd love to Shep to be off leash, but with that hound nose - the scent is more important than coming back when called.........or coming back ever.
