The New Yorker Cartoon Caption Contest #704
Sure! We know "Don't Stand So Close to Me."
This is the latest cartoon featured in the New Yorker Cartoon Caption Contest. I wrote the above caption, but I agree it is pretty lame. I had some trouble with it. Feel free to submit your own caption in the comments section. It couldn't t be worse. You can also enter your own caption in the actual contest by clicking here, but the deadline is Sunday night.
(Second attempt here so this may come out twice - and it's NOT a caption) At first I thought those two were wearing life-belts, then I thought there were two cannons behind them - then, no, I thought they're toilet seats - and then finally it clicked that they were paying sousaphones. Got there at last - Phew!
